experienced Commercial Plumbing Superintendent to lead the field execution of commercial and industrial plumbing projects. This role is responsible for managing field labor, coordinating installation activities, ensuring safety and quality standards, and delivering projects on schedule and within budget. The ideal candidate is a hands-on plumbing leader with strong commercial construction experience who can manage crews, coordinate with project management teams, and drive productivity in a fast-paced mechanical construction environment.

Key Responsibilities

Field Leadership & Crew Management

  • Lead and supervise commercial plumbing crews on construction projects
  • Plan daily and weekly field work activities to ensure productivity and schedule adherence
  • Coordinate manpower requirements with project management and general superintendents
  • Mentor and develop plumbers, pipefitters, apprentices, and helpers. Project Execution
  • Oversee installation of commercial plumbing systems, including:

o Domestic water systems

o Sanitary waste and vent systems

o Storm drainage systems

o Natural gas piping systems

o Equipment connections and specialty plumbing systems

  • Ensure installations meet project drawings, specifications, and code requirements
  • Coordinate work with other trades and subcontractors on active job sites.

Scheduling & Coordination

  • Work closely with Project Managers to support project schedules and milestones
  • Coordinate material deliveries, equipment needs, and prefabrication activities
  • Review drawings and specifications to ensure proper field installation.

Safety & Quality

  • Enforce company and jobsite safety policies and OSHA compliance
  • Conduct safety meetings and ensure safe work practices across plumbing crews
  • Maintain high installation standards through quality inspections and field oversight.

Reporting & Documentation

  • Provide daily and weekly field reports including manpower, productivity, and progress updates
  • Track labor hours and coordinate with project teams on budget performance
  • Identify potential risks, delays, or field conflicts and work proactively toward solutions.

Qualifications Required

  • 7+ years of commercial plumbing experience
  • 3+ years in a Superintendent, Foreman, or Lead Plumbing role
  • Strong knowledge of commercial plumbing systems and installation methods
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Experience managing field labor and coordinating multiple crews
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Preferred

  • Experience in mechanical contracting or large commercial construction projects
  • Experience coordinating multi-trade mechanical installations • OSHA 30 certification
  • Journeyman or Master Plumbing License (preferred but not required)
