Commercial Rolling Door and Gate Installer/Technician

Responsible to perform installation and service of commercial doors, automatic gates and/or associated equipment.
Major Responsibilities / Duties
· Prior to commencement of work (leaving shop), determine if appropriate tools, equipment, and materials are available for your use
· Determine that openings are prepared correctly to accept installation of product
· Determine that the areas near the openings are clear and allow for safe working conditions
· Establish the needs of each job and document the full installation process
· Determine if added work needs to be performed and measures needed to assure approved installation of product
· Alterations, construction modifications, and obstructions must be noted before each job is to begin
· Documentation of the work to be performed is discussed with the Project Manager and/or Supervisor for approval
· Perform related minor work in framing, build-in’s, and adjustments
· Install commercial garage doors, automatic gates, and/or associated equipment using appropriate tools, hardware, and equipment
· Care and maintenance of equipment and tools provided by employer
· Maintain appropriate parts and tools inventory in the vehicle to ensure that items are available for installation work
· Review basic architectural plans and details. Participate in toolbox/tailgate safety meetings daily
· Communicate with appropriate individuals within the organization your progress, any reasons for delay, any safety issues, or injuries
Candidates will possess the following:
· Strong communication skills
· Ability to carry heavy loads as needed
· Carry and climb ladders as needed
· Possess and provide a valid drivers’ license
· Pass a Pre-Employment Background Investigation and Drug Screening
· Must have a verifiable work history and experience
· Must NOT be convicted of a Felony; Criminal Background to be performed
· Basic hand tools including wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, etc.
Skills/Experience Requirements
· High School Diploma or GED
· At least 1-year related installation or construction experience
· Excellent telephone, written and verbal communication skills while interfacing with all levels of staff and customers
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as basic blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
· Basic math skills required. Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
· Ability to read a tape measure and convert nominal measurements Willingness to learn product and processes
· Ability to operate utility bed pickup truck and tow 16′ trailer
· Basic understanding of wiring diagrams
· Show up time 7:00 AM with 8-to-12-hour workdays 5 to 6 days per week- daily attendance and punctuality is critical to continued employment
