Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Controls Foreman (BAS/HVAC) to lead Building Automation System (BAS) and HVAC controls installations on industrial and commercial construction projects nationwide. This is a travel-heavy field leadership role designed for professionals who enjoy hands-on work, leading crews, and traveling to job sites across the U.S.

The Controls Foreman works closely with the Superintendent to plan daily activities, coordinate with other trades, and ensure projects are installed safely, efficiently, and according to specifications.

This role follows a 17 days on / 4 days home rotation, with company-paid travel benefits including per diem, a solo hotel room, overtime opportunities, and a company vehicle.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise BAS/HVAC controls technicians and assign work based on skill level

  • Provide hands-on training and leadership to field crews

  • Install control panels and BAS devices including sensors, relays, current switches, and related components

  • Bend and install conduit; pull, route, and terminate wiring per drawings and specifications

  • Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, submittals, and project specifications

  • Coordinate daily field activities with the Superintendent and other trades

  • Monitor productivity, troubleshoot field issues, and maintain jobsite documentation

  • Enforce safety policies and quality standards

  • Lead inspections, testing, commissioning, and punch list completion

  • Review and approve timesheets and submit required reports

Work Schedule & Travel

  • 17 days on / 4 days home rotation

  • 75%+ nationwide travel required

  • Long-term project assignments across the U.S.

  • Work performed on active construction job sites

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in HVAC controls or BAS installation

  • 3+ years of experience leading field crews in a construction environment

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of HVAC controls and Building Automation Systems

  • Proven experience with conduit bending, device installation, wire pulling, and termination

  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project specifications

  • Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills

  • Commitment to safety, quality, and professionalism
