Superintendent Job Description
Salary: Up to $150,000 per year

Schedule: Full-time leadership position; schedule and availability are based on project and company needs
Location: Office, warehouse, customer locations, and active jobsites as assigned
Position Summary:
The Superintendent is a senior leadership position responsible for directing and coordinating the day-to-day operations of the client. This position connects company goals to field execution and is accountable for project delivery, workforce planning, safety, quality, customer service, operational systems, cost control, and company-wide follow-through. The Superintendent works closely with the CEO, ownership group, project managers, Team Leads, field employees, warehouse, service, and administrative staff to keep the company organized, productive, profitable, and prepared for growth.
Responsibilities
- Translate the CEO’s and ownership group’s goals into clear operating priorities, schedules, responsibilities, and measurable expectations.
- Direct and coordinate day-to-day company operations across field construction, project management, service work, warehouse and material support, fleet, and equipment.
- Maintain a company-wide view of active projects, upcoming work, staffing needs, customer commitments, deadlines, and operational risks.
- Build and manage the master production schedule, manpower plan, and resource plan so crews, materials, equipment, and supervision are available when needed.
- Set daily and weekly priorities for project managers, Team Leads, foremen, field employees, and operational support staff.
- Lead regular operations and project meetings and provide timely updates to the CEO and ownership group regarding production, staffing, safety, quality, costs, customer issues, and major risks.
- Establish clear roles, decision authority, deadlines, and accountability for managers and employees, and follow up until assigned work is complete.
- Review project scopes, contracts, estimates, plans, specifications, budgets, schedules, permits, and customer requirements before and during construction.
- Monitor project progress, labor productivity, material usage, equipment and rental costs, subcontractor performance, job costing, and overall project profitability.
- Identify schedule, budget, quality, staffing, or material problems early and implement corrective action before they become larger issues.
- Work with project management and administrative staff to keep change orders, supporting documentation, billing information, pay applications, closeout items, and customer approvals current.
- Make sure field teams receive accurate information, approved plans, materials, tools, equipment, and access needed to complete work efficiently.
- Oversee quality-control procedures and confirm work meets project requirements, applicable electrical codes, inspection requirements, and company standards.
- Provide overall leadership for the company’s safety program, jobsite safety expectations, incident response, corrective action, and required documentation.
- Visit jobsites regularly to verify production, workmanship, safety, staffing, organization, and customer satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with customers, general contractors, inspectors, suppliers, subcontractors, and other business partners.
- Handle major customer concerns, project conflicts, and operational emergencies calmly, promptly, and professionally.
- Support recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, performance reviews, discipline, and workforce planning in coordination with the CEO and Admin.
- Develop Team Leads, foremen, project managers, and other employees by setting expectations, providing feedback, and building accountability at every level.
- Promote teamwork between field operations, project management, warehouse, service, and administrative staff.
- Oversee the responsible use and readiness of company vehicles, equipment, tools, material, warehouse inventory, fuel, credit cards, and other company property.
- Create, improve, and enforce practical operating procedures, reporting systems, meeting routines, and performance standards.
- Participate in strategic planning, growth initiatives, capacity planning, new service development, and long-term operational decisions.
- Protect confidential employee, customer, pricing, financial, project, and company information and use it only for authorized business purposes.
- Complete other leadership, operational, project, and field responsibilities assigned by the CEO or ownership group. Leadership Qualities

Qualifications
- Electrical construction experience is required, including a strong understanding of field operations and project execution.
- An electrical license is preferred but not required.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects, crews, supervisors, and competing priorities.
- Working knowledge of applicable electrical codes, construction plans, specifications, permits, inspections, safety requirements, and quality-control practices.
- Experience with project scheduling, workforce planning, production tracking, estimating, budgeting, job costing, change orders, and project closeout.
- Able to read and understand contracts, scopes of work, plans, reports, financial information, and project documentation.
- Strong problem-solving, conflict-resolution, negotiation, and decision-making skills.
- Comfortable using computers, mobile devices, construction software, scheduling tools, timekeeping systems, and company reporting systems.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and continued eligibility to operate a company vehicle.
- Able to travel between the office, warehouse, customer locations, and active jobsites as needed.
- Able to walk active jobsites, climb stairs or ladders when necessary, and work around normal construction conditions while using required PPE. Performance Expectations
- Projects are properly staffed, supplied, supervised, and completed safely, on schedule, within approved budgets, and to quality standards.
- Labor productivity, material control, equipment use, job costing, and project profitability are actively monitored and improved.
- Change orders, project documentation, billing readiness, inspections, and closeout items remain current.
- Operational risks, customer concerns, staffing problems, and project delays are reported early and addressed promptly.
- Managers and employees receive clear expectations, useful feedback, and consistent accountability.
- Safety incidents, inspection failures, rework, missed commitments, and preventable waste are reduced through planning and follow-through.
- The CEO and ownership group receive accurate, timely information needed to make business decisions.
Compensation and Benefits
- Up to $150,000 annual salary, paid according to the company’s normal payroll schedule.
- Full-time salaried position.
- Eligible for bonus consideration under the applicable company bonus plan. Bonus eligibility does not guarantee a bonus payment.
- Company vehicle provided for approved business use, subject to company vehicle rules and continued driving eligibility.
- Health pay offset provided according to the company’s current written policy or an authorized written agreement.
- Paid two weeks vacation time off provided according to the written terms approved for this salaried position.

- Report to work on time and ready to work. Follow the handbook’s attendance and notification requirements, including notice to management at least 30 minutes before the scheduled start time when late or absent whenever possible.
- Use Workforce, timekeeping, jobsite accountability, and location services as required for this position, and make sure supervised employees maintain accurate records.
- Follow meal and rest period procedures that apply to the position and make sure employees are able to take and accurately record required breaks.
- Follow and enforce company safety requirements, required PPE, incident reporting, drug and alcohol rules, and corrective actions. Notify upper management of workplace incidents without delay.
- Use company vehicles, credit cards, tools, equipment, materials, computers, and other property only for authorized business purposes and follow approval, receipt, inspection, and return requirements.
- Keep personal device use from interfering with safety, productivity, confidentiality, or job responsibilities.
- Maintain a professional, respectful, discrimination-free, harassment-free, and retaliation-free workplace and promptly report or elevate policy concerns.
- Apply performance and disciplinary expectations consistently, document important employee matters, and coordinate with the CEO and Admin before major employment actions.
