Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Excavation Foreman to lead our team in the Raleigh/Durham area. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership and crew management skills, demonstrating the ability to lead by example and work alongside the team. This role requires a reliable and punctual individual with a strong commitment to jobsite safety and OSHA compliance.
Responsibilities:
– Lead and manage excavation crews, ensuring efficient and safe site operations.
– Read and interpret blueprints, grade stakes, and site plans for accurate project execution.
– Oversee trenching, utilities installation, demolition, and subgrade preparation.
– Ensure all crew members adhere to PPE and trench safety standards.
– Conduct daily safety meetings and perform site inspections to identify and correct potential hazards.
– Communicate effectively with superintendents, engineers, and crew members.
– Coordinate multiple tasks on active job sites, resolving issues swiftly and adapting to changing conditions and schedules.
– Maintain high standards of productivity, quality, and safety.
Qualifications:
– Minimum of 10 years of civil construction experience.
– Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot equipment issues.
– Deep understanding of excavation, grading, demolition, and site development.
– Thorough knowledge of soil types, slopes, and compaction.
– Proven track record of motivating teams and maintaining morale.
– Detail-oriented, organized, and goal-driven with high integrity and professionalism.
– Strong decision-making skills under pressure and a teachable mindset with a willingness to learn new technologies.
