Lead HVAC Installer / Service Technician
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Installer / Service Technician to join our team. This role is primarily responsible for leading residential HVAC installation projects, including system replacements, retrofits, and new equipment installations. In addition to installation leadership, this individual must be capable of independently diagnosing and repairing HVAC systems and performing routine maintenance calls as needed.

Key Responsibilities
Lead Installation Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of HVAC installers on residential replacement and retrofit projects.
- Coordinate installation projects to ensure quality workmanship, safety compliance, and on-time completion.
- Install and connect HVAC equipment, including condensers, furnaces, air handlers, thermostats, refrigerant lines, and ductwork.
- Interpret blueprints, load calculations, and technical specifications to ensure proper installation.
- Perform system startup, testing, and commissioning to verify proper operation.
- Troubleshoot installation issues and make necessary adjustments.
- Conduct site assessments to determine project scope and identify potential challenges.
- Train and mentor junior installers on best practices and safety procedures.
- Complete all required installation documentation.
Service & Maintenance Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair residential HVAC systems, including heating, cooling, and ventilation equipment.
- Perform preventive maintenance and seasonal tune-ups.
- Troubleshoot electrical, refrigerant, airflow, and control issues.
- Communicate repair recommendations and system performance concerns to homeowners.
- Ensure all service calls are completed professionally and accurately documented.
- Maintain a high level of customer satisfaction on every call.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- EPA Universal Certification required.
- Valid HVAC license/certification as required by state or local regulations.
- 5+ years of residential HVAC installation experience.
- Proven leadership experience as a Lead Installer.
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for service and maintenance work.
- Thorough knowledge of HVAC systems, controls, and installation methods.
- Familiarity with local codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
- Proficiency with HVAC tools, testing equipment, and gauges.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to work in attics, crawlspaces, rooftops, and varying weather conditions.
