Lead a Growing Commercial Door Service Team
Are you an experienced commercial door technician, service manager, or lead technician who is ready to take the next step in your career? We are looking for a hands-on, technically knowledgeable Service Manager to lead our commercial pedestrian door service operation in Memphis. This is an opportunity to take ownership of a service department, develop a talented team, build strong customer relationships, and directly influence the department’s growth and profitability. What You’ll Do
As the Service Manager, you’ll oversee the day-to-day operation of the pedestrian door service department while providing leadership and technical support to our field team.
Lead & Develop the Team
• Lead, coach, and develop Service Technicians, Lead Technicians, Dispatchers, and Service Coordinators.
• Recruit and help build a high-performing service team.
• Conduct regular team meetings, performance reviews, and training.
• Establish clear expectations for safety, productivity, quality, and customer service.
• Create opportunities for technicians to grow their technical and leadership skills.
Manage Service Operations
• Oversee daily scheduling, dispatching, and technician assignments.
• Ensure service calls, preventive maintenance, and emergency requests are completed efficiently and professionally.
• Monitor technician productivity, response times, callbacks, and service quality.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, scheduling, workflow, and department efficiency.
• Help ensure technicians have the parts, tools, equipment, and information necessary to succeed in the field.
Build Customer Relationships
• Serve as an escalation point for key customers and complex service issues.
• Develop long-term relationships with commercial and industrial customers.
• Resolve customer concerns quickly and professionally.
• Work closely with the sales team to identify repair, replacement, maintenance, and upgrade opportunities.
• Help develop and retain preventive maintenance and service agreements.
Drive Department Performance
• Manage the service department budget and operating expenses.
• Monitor labor utilization, revenue, margins, and profitability.
• Review estimates, proposals, service agreements, and invoices.
• Identify opportunities to increase service revenue while controlling costs.
• Use service metrics and KPIs to improve department performance.
Maintain High Standards for Safety & Quality
• Promote a strong safety culture throughout the service department.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, company safety policies, applicable building codes, ADA requirements, and industry standards.
• Conduct safety meetings, field audits, and incident investigations as needed.
• Ensure technicians receive required training and maintain applicable certifications.
• Maintain high standards for workmanship and customer service.

Your Technical Background
We’re looking for someone who understands commercial pedestrian door systems and can confidently support technicians and customers when technical issues arise.
Experience with some or all of the following is highly valuable:
• Hollow metal doors and frames
• Commercial wood doors
• ADA-compliant entrance systems
• Automatic and/or electronic entrance doors
• Door closers
• Locks and exit devices
• Panic hardware
• Electronic access control hardware
• Commercial door hardware
• Building codes and ADA requirements
• Commercial service and preventive maintenance programs

What We’re Looking For
Required:
• 5+ years of experience in commercial doors, commercial building services, security doors, or a closely related field.
• At least 2 years of supervisory or management experience OR significant Lead Technician experience with demonstrated leadership ability.
• Strong understanding of commercial pedestrian door systems and hardware.
• Experience working directly with commercial customers.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced service environment.
• Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to customer locations.
We’d especially like to meet you if you have experience with:
• Managing or mentoring commercial door technicians
• Service scheduling and dispatch
• Service department P&L or profitability
• Preventive maintenance contracts
• Commercial door estimating
• Service management software
• Growing service revenue and customer accounts
