General Manager/Project Manager- Commercial Glass Glazing

Salary: $85k-$110k (Flexible based on experience) plus Bonus Plan

Job Description:
Manage the commercial glass division and prepares bid proposals for private and public projects from small to large scopes.
 
Responsibilities:

  • Understand bid requests in general.
  • Responsible for obtaining plans and specifications.
  • Determine Union requirements, insurance, bonding needs, warranties, safety requirements, etc.,
  • Prepare appropriate RFI’s concerning all scope and related issues.
  • Determine project funding, contract type, other competitors, and suitability for Giroux in general (scope, location, etc.)
  • Visit job site as needed, determine logistics/equipment for installation, attend pre-construction meetings.
  • Perform material take-offs, discuss the difficulty of installation with superintendents.
  • Solicit quotations from vendors and subcontractors; include all project particulars in the quote, e.g., extended warranties; review quotes for accuracy.
  • Negotiate processes and terms with suppliers.
  • Negotiate prices and terms with customers.
  • Get an estimate for shop drawings.
  • Determine project schedule; determine durations for our scope when applicable.
  • Prepare bid proposal.
  • Responsible for following bid review procedures (i.e. all bids must be reviewed before release)
  • Presentation of bids to clients as needed.
  • Build and maintain relationships with all customers, architects, and suppliers and ensure they always receive extraordinary treatment and respect. 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial construction, commercial glass glazing preferred.
  • Worked successfully on medium-sized projects.
  • High School Diploma: College degree preferred.
  • Microsoft Windows Experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Able to read architectural drawings and other blueprints.
  • Able to do accurate take-offs.
  • Knowledge of arithmetic, algebra, and geometry
  • Knowledge of materials used in the glazing industry.
  • Able to communicate clearly with contract administration and CAD Department
