Well Specialist
Pay: $65,000 + Benefits / Full-time Permanent Placement
Location: Western Pennsylvania (primarily Cranberry Township + surrounding areas)
Job Summary
We’re seeking a reliable, mechanically skilled Well Specialist to support the operation and maintenance of community water systems across Western Pennsylvania. This position is perfect for a hands-on technician who enjoys fieldwork, troubleshooting, and ensuring residents receive clean, dependable drinking water. You’ll work on the road, manage multiple sites, and play a key role in keeping water systems safe and compliant.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate, inspect, and maintain community well systems, including pumps, storage tanks, and distribution lines.
- Conduct routine water sampling and testing to meet state and federal standards.
- Diagnose, repair, and replace pumps, pressure tanks, pipes, valves, and related components.
- Maintain accurate logs, maintenance records, and compliance documentation for regulatory agencies.
- Respond to pressure drops, leaks, equipment failures, and emergency water issues.
- Perform preventative maintenance to ensure system reliability and long-term performance.
- Coordinate with infrastructure and maintenance teams and oversee contractors when needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience with well systems, water treatment, or related mechanical/environmental work.
- Ability to obtain or currently hold a Class E Water Well Operator License.
- Strong knowledge of groundwater wells, pumping systems, and basic water treatment processes.
- Physically capable of lifting 75 lbs and safely performing field labor (bending, climbing, crouching).
- Comfortable using a company phone and laptop for reporting — and willing to assist in implementing new well technology.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving history.
