    HVAC Manager

    Location: Ann Arbor, MI

    Compensation: $80,000 – $120,000 Base Salary + Performance Bonuses + Equity Opportunity

    Help Build Something from the Ground Up

    We are seeking an experienced HVAC Manager to help launch and grow a new HVAC operation serving the Ann Arbor market.

    This is a unique opportunity for a licensed HVAC professional who wants more than just another management role. You’ll work directly with ownership to build a high-performing team, establish operational processes, deliver exceptional customer experiences, and help shape the future of a growing business.

    This role is ideal for someone who enjoys leading people, managing installations, overseeing service operations, and creating systems that drive long-term success.

    What You’ll Do

    • Lead daily HVAC operations across service and installation

    • Schedule and supervise technicians and installers

    • Manage project timelines, labor allocation, and workflow

    • Ensure quality workmanship and code compliance

    • Qualify and sign off on HVAC work as required

    • Develop and mentor technicians

    • Build strong relationships with customers, vendors, and suppliers

    • Assist with hiring and team development

    • Support sales efforts through customer consultations and recommendations

    • Help establish operational systems and best practices

    • Partner directly with ownership to support business growth

    What Success Looks Like

    Within your first 90 days, you will:

    • Establish strong operational processes

    • Build trust with ownership and customers

    • Successfully oversee installation and service projects

    • Help recruit and develop field personnel

    • Create a positive, accountable team culture

    • Position the business for successful long-term growth

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Active Michigan Mechanical Contractor License

    • EPA 608 Universal Certification

    • 8+ years of residential and light commercial HVAC experience

    • Previous leadership or supervisory experience

    • Strong knowledge of HVAC installation and service operations

    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

    • Excellent communication and customer service skills

    Preferred

    • ServiceTitan experience

    • HVAC sales experience

    • Dispatching or scheduling experience

    • Estimating experience

    • Experience managing installation teams

    • Existing relationships within the local construction or home services market

    • NATE Certification

    • OSHA 10 Certification

    Serving Detroit and Ann Arbor, Michigan areas

    The Lead Wiring Technician duties include installation of fiber optic cabling and associated hardware at our customer sites, as well as train and manage other Wiring Technicians on the job. Technician must be able to manage a job site and interact with both the customer and management.

    Wages: Competitive, Based on Experience, plus lucrative Monthly Bonus program

    Benefits: Health Insurance, Paid Time Off, 401K

    Required Qualifications:

    • Proven experience in fiber optic cable installation
    • Valid Driver license and reliable vehicle
    • Must be able to pass drug screening and background check.
    • High School Diploma or GED

    Desired Skills & Experience

    • Strong knowledge of low-voltage systems
    • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
    • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
    • Experience training and directing or supervising other workers
    • A high level of character and integrity who will represent our company in a professional manner at all times
    • Proactive, highly organized, detail oriented, and excellent communication skills
    • Previous experience as a premise technician is a plus
    • Relevant certifications (e.g., BICSI, FOA CFOT) are a plus

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables in commercial and residential environments
    • Lead and coordinate installation projects, ensuring timely and high-quality completion.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fiber optic and low-voltage systems
    • Collaborate with managers and clients to ensure installations meet specifications and schedules
    • Maintain safety standards and adhere to industry regulations
    • Train and mentor junior technicians as needed
    • Maintain daily work logs
