    What You Bring

    • 5+ years recent HVAC/R installation experience, including lead roles (independent or with helpers) in residential/light commercial work.
    • Expertise with manufacturers like Carrier, Trane, Lennox; thermostats (smart/programmable); duct fabrication; boiler installs/repairs; refrigerant piping; brazing/soldering; wiring/blueprints.
    • Proficiency in sheet metal tools (e.g., snips, brakes) and hand tools like crescent wrenches.
    • Autonomy in stock ordering, billing/paperwork, and safety-focused problem-solving.
    • EPA Type 1, 2, or 3 Certification (required).
    • Valid driver’s license and clean record.

    Commercial Refrigeration/HVAC Service Technician

    We’re a fast-growing, family-owned HVAC/R company serving New England with a fun, stable, entrepreneurial culture. We prioritize work/life balance, long-term relationships, and excellent service for hospitality clients (90% multi-unit restaurants). Join our team of 12–13 field techs as we expand to 20 by spring—operating ME through RI.

    What You’ll Do

    • Perform full AC, heating, and refrigeration services: leak detection, charging/recovering refrigerant, measuring system parameters (pressures, temperatures, CFM), and electrical diagnostics (low/high voltage).
    • Diagnose issues, make recommendations, and ensure compliance with federal/state/local codes and safety measures.
    • Collaborate with inspectors, suppliers, co-workers, supervisors, dispatchers, and customers for seamless repairs/replacements/installs.
    • Train helpers as needed; maintain positive attitude and composure under pressure.
    • Handle 3–5 visits/day; work indoors/outdoors in extreme temperatures.

    What We’re Looking For

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Proven refrigeration background (e.g., shake machines? Bonus points!).
    • Commercial service experience; lead-level proficiency preferred.
    • EPA Section 608 certification (Type II).
    • Excellent communication/customer service; tech-savvy with email, messaging, and apps.
    • Self-motivated, dependable, year-round availability; able to prioritize and handle upset customers.
    • Valid driver’s license; must pass drug test, background check.
    • Willingness for 24/7 on-call (1 week every 6 weeks; $150/week stipend).

    Lead Boiler Controls Technician
    Location: Boston, MA
    Employment Type: Full-Time
    Pay Range: $35–$50 per hour (based on experience)

    Position Overview

    A fast-growing climate technology company is seeking a Lead Boiler Controls Technician to install, configure, and service advanced control and sensor networks in residential and commercial buildings throughout the Boston metro area.

    This role is ideal for a technician with an electrical or HVAC background who enjoys hands-on work, technology, and problem-solving. You’ll play a key role in modernizing building energy systems, improving efficiency, and reducing environmental impact — while building a long-term career with strong growth potential.


    Key Responsibilities

    • Install control systems and configure internet connectivity in residential and commercial buildings

    • Install and commission wired and wireless sensor networks throughout buildings

    • Test, troubleshoot, and verify proper operation of control and network systems

    • Navigate boiler rooms and identify components in steam and hydronic systems

    • Coordinate installation schedules with internal dispatch and operations teams

    • Maintain accurate installation and service records across internal tracking systems

    • Manage and maintain parts inventory within assigned service vehicle

    • Respond to service calls as needed to support installed systems


    Required Experience & Qualifications

    • Background in HVAC, electrical, or related technical field

    • Working knowledge of computers, circuits, and basic networking concepts

    • Willingness to learn boiler systems, controls, and energy technologies (training provided)

    • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

    • Must be located in or able to commute throughout the Boston metro area


    Preferred Qualifications

    • Strong multitasking and time management skills

    • Natural problem-solving ability and initiative

    • High attention to detail and strong sense of ownership

    • Positive, team-oriented attitude

    • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Docs/Sheets

    • Conversational Spanish is a plus
