Overview

The Jasper, a premier luxury multifamily community in Charleston, is hiring two Property Maintenance Technicians to join our team. This role is responsible for maintaining the appearance, safety, and functionality of the property through responsive service, preventative maintenance, and high-quality workmanship.

What You’ll Do

• Perform general maintenance including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and painting
• Complete unit turns and prepare apartments for new residents
• Conduct preventative maintenance inspections and address issues proactively
• Respond to resident maintenance requests in a timely, professional manner
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation
• Ensure all work meets safety standards and building codes
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule

What We’re Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• 3–5 years of maintenance experience (multifamily or related field preferred)
• Strong working knowledge of general building systems and repairs
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to lift, carry, and work in varying weather conditions
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
• CPO certification preferred (not required)

Responsibilities:

• Read mechanical schematics and perform basic mechanical troubleshooting
• Read mechanical and machinist blueprints, and precision measuring instruments, then document findings on appropriate paperwork
• Perform mechanical and welding type duties on an as needed basis and meet all requirements such as welding specs, rigging, assembling cranes
• Troubleshoot all sizes and types of cranes and mechanically determine problems and take corrective action
• Provide Service Manager with accurate and complete information on mechanical machinery in order to install/replace/order replacement parts
• Complete documentation with relevant information required to generate reports to be forwarded to the engineering or production departments, or to the customer. Use of digital camera and docking station required

Experience:

• 3+ years overhead crane background OR Industrial Electric
• Ability to complete required nuclear site access
• Basic knowledge of machinery and tools including their design, uses, repairs and maintenance
• Experience with motors and gear boxes
• Experience with electrical – 3 phase motor controls, PLCs, up to 480v
• Experience with crane maintenance preferred, but not required
