    Residential HVAC Service Technician
    Location: Grove City, OH Area
    Employment Type: Full-Time

    Key Responsibilities

    • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain residential heating and air conditioning systems to restore peak performance.
    • Inspect ducting, components, and tools/materials to ensure everything remains in excellent, service-ready condition.
    • Wire, start up, test, and verify complete residential systems while documenting results for quality assurance.
    • Identify problems, recommend effective solutions, and perform repairs efficiently and correctly.
    • Conduct detailed inspections and communicate any additional concerns clearly to dispatch and homeowners.
    • Explain all work performed to customers in clear, professional, easy-to-understand language.
    • Order required parts ahead of time and arrive fully prepared for every appointment.
    • Complete all paperwork and tablet documentation neatly, accurately, and on time.
    • Debrief dispatch and customers after each call with thorough notes and documentation.
    • Leave every job site clean, organized, and better than you found it.
    • Maintain a courteous, professional demeanor with customers and team members at all times.
    • Wear protective floor savers on footwear while working inside client homes.

    Required Qualifications

    • High school diploma or GED.
    • Minimum 4 years of hands-on residential HVAC service experience.
    • Active EPA Certification.
    • Strong soldering and brazing skills.
    • Clear verbal and written English communication skills.
    • Basic computer proficiency (laptop/tablet use, internet navigation, email such as Microsoft Outlook).
    • Valid driver’s license.
    • Ability to work overtime with short notice and occasional weekend hours as needed.

    Role Overview As a Residential HVAC Installer, you will handle the complete installation of heating, cooling, and air quality systems in homes.     Main Duties

    • Install furnaces, air conditioners, heat pumps, ductless systems, and related equipment according to manufacturer specs and local codes.
    • Measure, cut, fabricate, and install ductwork, fittings, and insulation for optimal airflow and efficiency.
    • Perform thorough system testing, charging, startup, and troubleshooting to ensure peak performance.
    • Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe; complete all required documentation accurately and on time.
    • Interact professionally with homeowners—explain the work being done, answer questions, and confirm satisfaction before leaving.
    • Be available for scheduled overtime or weekend calls when needed to meet customer demands.

    Qualifications & Requirements

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
    • Minimum 4 years of proven experience installing residential HVAC systems (new construction and retrofit/replacement projects).
    • Current EPA Section 608 Certification (Type II or Universal preferred).
    • Valid Ohio driver’s license with clean driving record.
    • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and installation manuals.
    • HVAC trade school or apprenticeship completion strongly preferred.
    • Comfortable using hand tools, power tools, gauges, recovery machines, and basic diagnostic equipment.
    • Solid verbal communication skills and basic computer/tablet proficiency for job logs and invoicing.
    • Detail-oriented, safety-conscious, and capable of working solo or with a helper.

    Physical Demands

    • Regularly lift and carry up to 50 lbs; occasionally heavier with assistance.
    • Frequent standing, bending, kneeling, crawling, climbing ladders, and working in tight attics, crawl spaces, or outdoor conditions.
    • Exposure to varying weather, dust, and occasional heights.
