  • COTNROL SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN – HVAC/ELECTRICAL

    Pay: $25.00 – $45.00 per hour

    Job description:

    The Burnell Controls Technician will take on a customer management role by responding to and resolving customer driven issues as well as proactively identifying new opportunities for system enhancements. A successful technician plays a vital role in developing and maintaining a win-win relationship between BCI and the customer. The Control Systems Technician is a full-time professional position, working under the supervision of our service manager.

    The successful candidate is a self motivated independent thinker, who masters new tasks quickly with minimal direction, has an eagerness to learn all that is required while rapidly assuming additional responsibility. He/she is constantly striving to improve his/her understanding of building automation systems, tools of the trade, and new products.

    Service Technician Primary Responsibilities:

     Installation, programming, maintenance and troubleshooting of Electric, electronic and direct digital (DDC) systems. The service technician is ultimately responsible from making sure the customer is left with a system that meets or exceeds the project specifications and the customer’s expectations.

     Performs troubleshooting and service on a wide variety of building HVAC control systems including Direct Digital Controls, Analog Electronic, Electric and pneumatic systems

     Performs wiring checkout and assists in automation systems start-ups utilizing commissioning tools.

     Performs job start up, checkout, and troubleshooting for systems and service installed jobs.

     Completes adjustments and calibrations and submits commissioning reports on automation systems.

     Responds to customer service calls, checks indicated points of trouble, and analyzes requirements of system involved, and checks and test systems components. Diagnoses trouble or defect, determines corrective action and repairs system.

     Completes and submits written reports covering all aspects of each assignment.

     Delivers technical support to end users and field labor when applicable.

     Trains customers on company systems prior to job turnover.

     Troubleshoot and resolve basic HVAC building automation systems and controls problems at our customer sites

     Perform device validation and system commissioning

     Respond to basic warranty calls

     Responsibilities may include commissioning and troubleshooting multiple projects simultaneously.

     Provides technical support to other technicians as needed.

     Electronic component testing and troubleshooting

     Mechanical component testing and troubleshooting

     Software testing and troubleshooting

     Ensuring that the control system meets or exceeds the project specifications and the customer’s expectations.

    Job Requirements

     Over 2 years experience working on either Tridium AX or Johnson Controls MetaSYS Systems

     General Programming Skills/Database Skills

     Strong Work Ethic

     Team Player

     Ability to learn new technologies

     Good written and verbal communication skills

     Ability to work with and without direct supervision.

     Excellent initiative, interpersonal and communication skills

     Demonstrated technical aptitude along with basic computer skills

     Must be willing to travel throughout the service area.

     Must be able to read and interpret project plans and specifications

     Ability to read, interpret, follow and troubleshoot schematics and control diagrams

     Valid driver’s license with clean driving record required

    Job Summary
    We are seeking a skilled Electrician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience in various electrical tasks, including installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems in commercial settings. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical codes and safety practices, as well as the ability to read blueprints and schematics.

    Responsibilities

    Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures in accordance with relevant codes and standards.
    Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams to determine the layout of electrical systems.
    Perform troubleshooting to identify electrical issues using tools such as an ohmmeter.
    Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction sites to ensure seamless project execution.
    Conduct renovations that involve electrical work, ensuring compliance with safety regulations.
    Utilize hand tools and power tools effectively to complete tasks efficiently.
    Work with low voltage systems as required for specific projects.
    Maintain a clean and organized work environment on construction sites.
    Skills

    Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings related to electrical systems.
    Strong knowledge of electrical codes, safety practices, and regulations.
    Experience with frame carpentry is a plus for renovation projects.
    Ability to use hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
    Familiarity with low voltage wiring systems is advantageous.
    Strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot electrical issues efficiently.
    Excellent communication skills for collaborating with team members on-site.
    Qualifications:

    Massachusetts Licensed Electrician

    New Hampshire electrical license helpful

    Valid Driver’s license

    Ability to pass CORI/SORI checks

    10 Hour OSHA Certification

    Good attitude

    We are looking for a creative, self-motivated and deadline oriented individual who is constantly striving to improve and build on their knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems, product knowledge and proficiency with the various programming tools of the trade.

    You will work closely with our application engineers, project managers and startup technicians to develop the control programs which perform the sequences of operations for our projects. You will develop programs that:

    Specific Project Duties will Include:

    PROGRAMMING THE SEQUENCE OF OPERATION—

    Develop the control programs to perform the sequences of oepration for each project.

    Perform program simulation to ensure proper functionality

    Model any new or unique applications using components in the testing lab.

    GRAPHICAL FRONT END DESIGN—

    Work with our graphics team to develop the various slides and navigation screens for each system.

    Work to develop company standards and practices to be used across projects.

    Continuously evolve the company’s capabilities with each project.

    WE WOULD REQUEST 2-5 YEARS OF PROGRAMMING EXPERIENCE. SALARY IS DEPENDENT ON EXPERIENCE WITH A RANGE OF $60,000-$100,000 / YEAR.
