Lead HVAC Technician

Location: Des Moines, IA
Pay: $25/hour (based on experience)

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Lead HVAC Technician to join our growing team in Des Moines, Iowa. This role is ideal for a skilled technician who takes pride in their work, can lead by example in the field, and delivers excellent service to customers. The Lead Technician will handle advanced service and installation work while supporting and mentoring junior technicians.

Key Responsibilities

• Diagnose, service, repair, and install residential and/or light commercial HVAC systems

• Lead jobs in the field and serve as a technical resource for other technicians

• Ensure all work is completed safely, accurately, and in compliance with local and state codes

• Communicate clearly with customers regarding system issues, repair options, and recommendations

• Maintain detailed service documentation and job records

• Assist with training and mentoring apprentice or junior technicians

• Participate in on-call rotation as needed

• Represent the company professionally at all times

Qualifications

• 3+ years of HVAC service and/or installation experience

• Proven ability to work independently and lead jobs in the field

• EPA Certification (required)

• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Excellent customer service and communication skills

• Ability to lift equipment and work in attics, crawlspaces, and outdoor conditions
