    Plumber Apprentice – IN Region

    Construction – IN Region – Carmel, Indiana (Remote)


    Position Summary

    An Apprentice Plumber is an entry-level plumber working under the guidance of a Foreman or Journeyman Plumber. Apprentice plumbers perform many of the same tasks that Journeyman plumbers do, including installing new plumbing fixtures, unclogging plumbing systems, and repairing pipes. They may handle easier jobs on their own, under direct supervision of Foreman or Journeyman, and act as a helper on more complex jobs. Apprentice plumbers must be willing to work in various work environments. Apprentice plumbers are well organized and detail-oriented, can follow instructions and clear orders, enjoy working with a range of different people each day, and have strong mechanical skills.

    Primary Responsibilities and Duties

    • Assist Journeyman in diagnose plumbing problems and perform repairs
    • Install, assemble, maintain, and repair pipes and plumbing fixtures
    • Locate and repair water line leaks and remove clogs
    • Install and/or repair appliances like dishwashers, water heaters, toilets, sinks, etc.
    • Test plumbing and other installed fixtures to ensure proper function under direct supervision of Foreman or Journeyman Plumber.
    • Willingness to learn state laws and regulations and adhere to local building codes
    • Performs various related duties assigned by Foreman or Superintendent.

    Traits/Competencies

    • Willingness to learn various piping and ventilation systems
    • Willingness to learn all phases of building construction, including work commonly done by the various building crafts.
    • Willingness to learn electrical, mechanical, and structural systems.
    • Willingness to learn different types of building materials, tools, and machines.
    • Learn to read technical designs and blueprints 

    Requirements

    • Have a valid Driver License.
    • Have reliable transportation.
    • High school graduation or equivalent.
    • At least 2 years plumbing experience.
    • Willingness to enroll in an accredited Apprenticeship program within a year of employment.
    • Willingness to acquire proper tools in a timely manner to perform learned job duties
    • Available to work on call and respond immediately to plumbing emergencies to assist Foreman and Journeyman Plumbers.

    Physical Demands

    • The position requires standing, bending, reaching, lifting a majority of the workday.
    • Lift repetitively 50 pounds.
    • Climb ladders.
    • Work from scaffolding and lifts.
    • Drive a company vehicle (truck).
    • Other manual labor as required.

    Plumbing Journeyman – Construction – IN Region

    Construction – IN Region – Indianapolis, Indiana (Hybrid)


    Position Summary 

    Under administrative supervision from a designated trade manager, to plan, coordinate and supervise new construction and remodeling of existing buildings.  The Plumbing Journeyman has extensive experience performing repairs on different piping systems, snaking drains, fixing leaks, and installing pipes and water heaters. 

    Primary Responsibilities and Duties 

    • Diagnose plumbing problems and perform repairs 
    • Install, assemble, maintain, and repair pipes and plumbing fixtures 
    • Install and/or repair appliances like dishwashers, water heaters, toilets, sinks, etc. 
    • Test plumbing and other installed fixtures to ensure proper function

    Traits/Competencies 

    • Knowledge of all phases of building construction, including work commonly done by the various building crafts.

    • Able to read technical designs and blueprints 
    • Proficient with plumbing tools, materials, and equipment 
    • Expert knowledge in piping and ventilation systems 

    Requirements 

    • High school graduation or equivalent. 
    • Completion of a vocational school certificate program, associate degree, or apprenticeship expected 
    • 4+ years of professional plumbing experience 
    • Any combination totaling four years (48 months) work experience in building construction, remodeling, construction project coordination experience. 
    • Good communication and interpersonal skills. 

    Physical Demands 

    • The position requires standing, bending, reaching, lifting a majority of the workday. 
    • Lift repetitively 50 pounds.

    Commercial Plumbing Foreman

    Position Summary

    The ideal commercial plumbing foreman will demonstrate success in planning, coordinating, and supervising the work of company plumbers for
    new commercial plumbing construction and remodeling with the ability to plan ahead and coordinate multiple crews.

    Primary Responsibilities and Duties

    • Organizes, coordinates, and supervises the work of the craft employees on construction projects.
    • Trains employees.
    • Determines work priorities and coordinates work activities within the design area and/or with others outside of the office; apportions work among employees according to abilities or specialized training.
    • Coordinates new construction and major remodeling, which involves attending meetings and reviewing project documents (e.g. contracts, specifications, blueprints) as necessary.
    • Collaborates with administrators on the supervision of all work operations.
    • Exercises control over rate of construction progress in order to complete construction project within time limits; schedules tasks for employees.
    • Leads inspection and commission of day-to-day construction work to enforce conformity to specifications.
    • Acts as adviser on job related problems.
    • Deals with individuals demanding information or service, such as agencies, department heads or others.
    • Performs other related duties as assigned.

    Requirements

    • Any combination totaling four years (48 months) work experience in commercial plumbing, commercial building construction, commercial construction project coordination.
    • Minimum 3 years commercial plumbing foreman experience
    • General computer, writing, communication, and interpersonal skills

    Physical Demands

    • The position requires standing, bending, reaching, lifting a majority of the workday.
    • Lift repetitively 50 pounds.
    • Climb ladders.
    • Work from scaffolding and lifts.
    • Drive a company vehicle (truck).
    • Capable of driving long distances between job sites.
    • Other manual labor as required.

    Compensation
    $30 to $40 per hour based on experience. Travel per diem. Comprehensive benefit package includes medical, vision and dental insurance; 401K; PTO; Paid holidays.
