Full Job Description

RMR Elevator is hiring an experienced Elevator Installation & Modernization Technician to join our team in Linden, NJ. We are looking for a motivated elevator mechanic with experience in installation, modernization, troubleshooting, repairs, and maintenance on hydraulic and traction elevators.

Responsibilities

• Perform elevator modernizations and new installations
• Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic and traction elevators
• Complete preventative maintenance and service work
• Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and shop drawings
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues efficiently
• Ensure all work is completed safely and meets code requirements
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for occasional service calls

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of elevator mechanic experience
• Experience with:
  • Hydraulic elevator installation and modernization
  • Traction elevator installation and modernization
  • Elevator maintenance and repair
  • Troubleshooting elevator systems
• Ability to read electrical schematics and shop drawings
• Valid driver’s license required
• High school diploma or GED required
• OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
• NJ Elevator Mechanic License (preferred but not required)

Pay & Benefits

• $40–$60 per hour depending on experience

Schedule

• Full-time
• Monday to Friday
