HVAC/Boiler Service Technician (Residential)

Location: Newfoundland, NJ

Salary: $30-$40 Hourly/profit sharing/Christmas Bonus/Yearly Performance raise

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain residential heating (boilers, furnaces) and cooling systems (AC, heat pumps)
• Perform seasonal tune-ups, installations, and emergency service calls
• Provide clear explanations and recommendations to homeowners
• Maintain accurate service records and inventory

Requirements:

• 3+ years of hands-on HVAC/Boiler experience (residential focus preferred)
• EPA 608 certification (Universal or Type II minimum)
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
• Strong troubleshooting skills on gas boilers, oil boilers, forced air systems, and modern high-efficiency equipment
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to work on-call rotation for emergencies

Key Responsibilities

• Perform annual tune-ups and cleanings on oil burners, boilers, furnaces, and hot water heaters
• Diagnose and repair issues with oil-fired systems, including burners, pumps, controls, and heat exchangers
• Replace components such as nozzles, filters, ignition transformers, and electrodes
• Conduct efficiency tests, adjust combustion settings, and perform safety checks
• Install new or replacement oil heating equipment and hot water systems
• Respond to emergency no-heat calls and troubleshoot system failures

Qualifications & Requirements

• 2+ years experience servicing oil-fired heating/hot water systems (boilers, furnaces, etc.)
• Strong knowledge of oil burner operation, combustion analysis, and HVAC principles
• Relevant Certifications a MUST (EPA, or state oil burner license)
• Valid driver’s license 
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in confined spaces, and handle outdoor conditions
• Excellent troubleshooting and customer communication skills
