General Manager – Custom Interior Glass Operations
Location: Southlake, TX
Employment Type: Full-Time
Compensation: $75,000 – $95,000 (Based on Experience) + Revenue & Profitability Bonuses
Lead a dynamic custom interior glass business in the Dallas-Fort Worth area that’s primed for expansion. As General Manager – Custom Interior Glass Operations, you’ll drive operations in the field, coordinating projects directly, managing teams on-site, and optimizing processes to eliminate bottlenecks and accelerate growth. This role demands an action-oriented leader with deep expertise in shower doors, mirrors, office partitions, glass railings, and custom interior installations, focused on delivering exceptional service to homeowners, contractors, and businesses. With internal support for P&L management, your priority will be hands-on execution and team leadership to maintain momentum.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead hands-on: Provide real-time coaching for a small team of installers, fabricators, and support staff, resolving issues on job sites to enhance productivity and streamline project flows.
- Oversee project coordination: Assign resources, meet deadlines, control costs, and intervene directly to ensure installations stay on schedule, supporting internal project management efforts.
- Manage daily field operations: Address challenges as they occur, refine workflows from quoting to completion, and implement practical improvements to replace inefficient methods.
- Build client and vendor relationships while networking locally to secure opportunities and partnerships.
- Track budgets and KPIs in the field, collaborating on efficiency adjustments for improved margins with internal P&L assistance.
- Uphold safety, quality, and compliance standards throughout all activities.
Qualifications
- 5-10 years of direct operations, project management, or leadership experience within the custom interior glass industry, including shower doors, frameless hardware, mirrors, office partitions, or architectural glass installations (experience limited to exterior windows, curtain walls, or high-rise projects is not a fit).
- Proven hands-on leadership of small teams of installers and fabricators, with a strong emphasis on execution, timelines, and efficiency in fast-paced field environments (P&L knowledge is beneficial but not essential).
- Expertise in field-based project coordination, with a demonstrated track record of on-site problem-solving to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Strong communication skills to motivate teams, engage clients, and align with partners during on-site interactions.
- Deep familiarity with major vendors and product lines and key competitors, including specific hardware.
- Proficiency with project management tools, business software, and Microsoft Office.
- Valid driver’s license and willingness for local travel, as this role involves 70-80% field time.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Management, or equivalent experience (preferred).
- Local DFW market familiarity, including vendor networks, labor resources, and permitting processes, is highly valued.
Candidates must pass a background check and drug test. This position is designed for proven leaders who have built their career in the custom glass or interior architectural glass space and thrive in field-heavy environments, not office-based management from other industries.
